1. information on the disposal of electrical and electronic (waste) equipment and on the meaning of the symbol in accordance with Annex 3 to the ElektroG.
Owners of old appliances must dispose of them separately from unsorted municipal waste. WEEE may therefore not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste and, in particular, does not belong in household waste. Instead, these old appliances must be collected separately and disposed of, for example, via local collection and return systems.
Owners of old appliances must also separate old batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed in the old appliance from the latter before handing them in at a collection point.
The latter does not apply insofar as the WEEE is separated from other WEEE in accordance with Section 14 (5) sentences 2 and 3 ElektroG within the framework of opting by the public waste management authorities for the purpose of preparing it for reuse.
By means of the symbol according to Annex 3 to the ElektroG, owners can recognize old appliances that are to be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste at the end of their service life. The symbol for the separate collection of electrical and electronic equipment represents a crossed-out wheeled garbage can.
2. information on the possibilities of returning old appliances
First of all, please be sure to inform us about the return options for old electrical equipment that you have created (voluntarily, if applicable)
Owners of old appliances can hand them in within the framework of the possibilities for the return or collection of old appliances set up and available by public waste management authorities, so that proper disposal of the old appliances is ensured. If necessary, it is also possible to hand in electrical and electronic equipment there for the purpose of reusing the equipment. For more information, please contact the respective collection or take-back point.
The following link provides an online directory of collection and take-back points:
Disposing of waste electrical equipment
Electrical appliances contain harmful substances and valuable resources. Every consumer is therefore required by law to dispose of waste electrical equipment at an authorized collection or take-back point, for example at the local recycling center. WEEE is accepted there free of charge and recycled in an environmentally friendly and resource-saving manner. In addition, you can return your old appliance to us free of charge.
